Midian City Tober's Diary #15

Tober's diary is composed in a small, hardbound book that she keeps with her.

High on Catnip

I got my first assignment from Lindsay the other day. I was given a recorder and told to hang around the pool hall to try to gain some information on someone named Paris. I have no idea who this person is, but I know that she is involved with the Hounds here, the group of humans who are...well...like dogs. They're really bad. So I hear, anyway...I try to avoid them. So, I've been hanging around the pool hall when I can. Mostly hanging out on the roof or behind the building. I haven't gotten any useful info yet, but I'm trying.

I don't know how successful I'm going to be at this whole spying thing because I've never done it before. But, I really don't want to face Lindsay empty-handed. From the looks of her, I don't thinks she's very accepting of failure. People have told me that she's like a ghost and only comes out of the shadows when she intends to be seen. Sometimes I wonder if she's watching me. I don't know what the hell I'm getting myself into here.

During one of my "missions" I ran into someone who was a little too curious about why I was hanging around the back of the pool hall. I tried my best to act tough, and even pulled my knife on him, but he just laughed and grabbed the blade with his hand, cutting himself without even flinching to show me that my knife was meaningless to him. That scared the living shit out of me. I quickly hissed at him and jumped to the rooftops.

In better news, I've been hanging out with Angela of The Pack more. She's recently become their Alpha, and she's really encouraging me to join them. It would be really nice to have a warm place to sleep and companionship, but...I'm not sure if I agree with their ideals. Unfortunately, I may need to make some more compromises in order to get by here.

I almost got shot hanging out over there... and when I ran and jumped I went the wrong direction to the mercs territory, made a situation go bad to worse... not to mention I fell in the ocean, I hate the water, got my fur all wet, I almost drowned... kept trying to get out of the water.. some boat was blocking my way out.

The pacs look like a dangerous group, I have seen a lot of them hanging over by the shore... but since they are hunters, I can kind of understand them more than I can other factions.

Sounds to me like you're being tested for your courage as much as how good a spy you make. Knowing when to quit a fight you cannot win will keep you alive. Going back and facing the same place again takes guts. Respect.

Tober's courage will be tested on a much greater level soon enough. Wait for my next entry!

Since I didn't really reply much last time... I'm waiting til a post or two after this one so I can find out the back story of the Pack vs CW war that sounds interesting...

The funny thing is, Shadey, to this day I'm still not quite sure what the whole issue was between the Pack and the Catwalkers other than there was (and still is) a lot of animosity between the two factions.

Huh... Since I'm extremely not in Rith's good graces or Chais' and they are the only ones I'm sure that would know... I guess that will go unanswered...

I can give you a little bit more insight into it. Ask me about it ic when you see me again. I definitely don't have the whole story, though.
